US edition of the work published in London in the same year. Account of the land and life of the people of Labrador by a medical missionary. The author, later Sir Wilfred Thomason Grenfell (1865-1940), joined the Royal National Mission to Deep-Sea Fishermen in 1877 and arrived in Newfoundland in 1892 to improve the life and conditions of the coastal inhabitants, especially the fishermen.
