FIRST EDITION. Early issue with the September 1902 catalogue bound at rear. 8vo. 7.75 x 5.25 inches. [vi] + 301 pp. + [1] + 40 pp. advertisements. Bound in original red cloth, gilt with author/title statements in gilt panels on front board and spine. Rough cut edges. Slight wear to extremities, edges bumped and some darkening of lower front and rear boards, which has a few light stains. Occasional foxing, but otherwise a very good copy. How a mermaid came to Folkestone. This is an early issue of the first edition in the year of first publication, with a publisher's catalogue dated to September 1902.
