Some browning on flyleaves, but otherwise a very good copy. A collection of essays on creativity and originality in science and on the logical connections between creative and critical thought. It includes studies of Herbert Spencer and the Law of General Evolution, Darwin's illness and review articles of Teilhard de Chardin, The Phenomenon of Man (1959) and Arthur Koestler, The Act of Creation (1964). Peter Brian Medawar (1915-87) was a writer and biologist who discovered acquired immune tolerance.
