Gift inscription on first free endpaper. Reminiscences of an Irish childhood by Anglo-Irish novelist and short story writer, Elizabeth Bowen (1899-1973). She moved to England with her mother in 1907, the family settling in Hythe, Kent. She had links with numerous English writers of the period, including members of the Bloomsbury Set and during the war she worked for the Ministry of Information in London. Seven Winters was first published in Dublin in 1942 and more recently in a number of different editions with others of her works.
