Extremities worn with split and loss on edge and top of spine. Some stains on fore edge,but otherwise a very good copy. 1946 signature on first free endpaper and again on rear pastedown Illustrated by colour printed frontispiece. An account of Scandinavian antiquities, mythology and literature. A translation of the 1756 work on the history of Denmark by Paul Henri Mallet (1730-1807), of Geneva, Historian of Scandinavia and several German states. The English version was first published by Thomas Percy, Bishop of Dromore (1729-1811), Best known for his Reliques of Ancient English Poetry, a pioneering ballad collection (1765).
