Six songs, all representing a particular vice or virtue, beautifully illustrated by chromolithograph plates: The Bee (Industry), The Beetle (Beauty), The Dog (Fidelity), The Bird (Cruelty), The Spider (Perseverance) and The Butterfly (Vanity). This compilation by Edward Francis Rimbault (1816-76), minor composer and well known musical antiquarian was first published in 1836. The verses were written by James Bruton (1815-67). The revised edition is very scarce and COPAC records only one UK library holding, at Cambridge.
