Notes
An excellent photographic record of Kitchener's New Army and of the Territorial Army, from recruitment and training through to embarkation to the Front Line. It formed the first volume of the author's War of the Nations (ten volumes, 1915-17). Edgar Wallace (1875-1932) served as a war correspondent in the South African War but became best known as a prolific thriller writer.
