Large 4to. 13 x 11 inches. Bound in black leather by Stoakley, late Hawes; spine in compartments with raised bands and gilt titles. Inner dentelles. All edges gilt. Marbled endpapers. A little wear to extremities and spotting of flyleaves; otherwise a very good clean copy. Pictorial bookplate of J. A. Fuller Maitland. Illustrated by vignette and 100 black and white plates. A limited edition of Blake's Jerusalem, originally produced over the period 1804-20. The facsimile edition by John Pearson was first published in 1877 and reissued in 1890. The publisher is not identified in the work. This copy, handsomely bound by Stoakley of Cambridge, was owned by John Alexander Fuller Maitland (1856-1936), influential music critic, journalist and scholar. He was on the original committee of the English Folk Song Society, 1898 and served as editor of the second edition of Grove's Dictionary of Music, 1904-10. (Bentley, Blake Books).
