A little wear and sunning of extremities and slight damp cockling of index pages and rear flyleaf. Occasional traces of foxing largely confined to lower edge; otherwise a very good clean copy. Illustrated by frontispiece, protected by tissue guard, numerous engraved text figures and by folding map of Hampshire at end. Decorated by publisher's device on verso of title Signed by illustrator at foot of frontispiece. A volume in Macmillan's Highways and Byways series, by Rose Moutray Read F.R.H.S. (1870-1947), author and horticulturist, with illustrations by the artist, Arthur Bentley Connor (1880-1960).
