Notes
An exciting view of the town and harbour with an S.E.R. steam packet leaving for Boulogne in a gale - the parish church looks down over the detailed picture of the inner harbour. This plate was originally published for The Stationers' Company Almanack in 1858, reissued in 1883 witnout titles, and again in the early 20th century, with, as in this example, the addition of the title Folkestone and Mail Steam Packet in 1850.
