Large 8vo. 9.25 x 6.75 inches. [2] + 333 + [1] pp. + [1] pp. glossary. Bound in original blue cloth, gilt. Pictorial endpapers. Hinges starting to crack and spine and board edges sunned and discoloured. Some foxing of margins, but otherwise a very good copy. Signature on half title. Illustrated by frontispiece and by 30 black and white plates, including maps. Decorated by publisher's device on title page. Narrative of a visit to Easter Island, including some account of early visits by Dutch, French and English explorers. Robert Joseph Casey (1890-1962) was a Chicago based newspaper correspondent who travelled extensively overseas.
