Notes
This title by Nicolas Fromaget (d.1759), known in English as The Kinsman of Mahomet was first published in Leiden in 1742, and relates the amatory and other adventures of a Frenchman captured by the Turks and held prisoner in Constantinople for eight years. It adds an historical and bibliographical account of the author and his works, by the editor, Octave Uzanne (1851-1931), a famous bibliophile, writer, publisher and journalist, whose research covered eighteenth century authors.
