Wear marks on front pastedown and foxing of fore edge, flyleaves, frontispiece and title page; otherwise a very good copy with a clean interior. Illustrated by frontispiece, 5 sepia plates and by numerous text engravings, including whole page and plans and by folding plan at end. Decorated by publisher's device on title page. A volume in Dent's Medieval Town series. Well illustrated history and description of Constantinople under the Ottomans.
