Some light staining of spine, flyleaves browned and occasional scattered foxing; otherwise a very good copy. Neat signature on first free endpaper. Illustrated by 32 plates, including frontispiece, plans and portraits. and by 3 text figures. A collection of essays, whose subjects include John Evelyn, books, Italy and its theatres and Shakespeare. Edward Gordon Craig (1872-1966), illegitimate son of the actress, Ellen Terry, was an actor, director, designer and writer on theatre. Scarce copy in dust wrapper.
