Political biography of Otto, Furst von Bismarck (1815-98), architect of modern Germany, which he unified by statecraft and wars, defeating Denmark, Austria and France. The Kingdom of Prussia was the dominant force of the North German Confederation in 1867, and was transformed into the German Empire in 1871. He held the offices of minister president of Prussia from 1862 and Chancellor of Imperial Germany, 1871-98. First published in 1918 by Charles Grant Robertson (1869-1948), historian and Oxford academic.
