8vo. 7.5 x 5 inches. 120 pp. Bound in original green cloth, gilt, in pictorial dust wrapper, which has some edge wear and splits and inside stain at head of spine. Minor wear to boards, but otherwise a very good copy, Illustrated by frontispiece map and by sketches in text, including whole page. Decorated by publisher's series device on title page. Scarce copy of sea adventure for children by Richard Armstrong (1903-86), writing as Cam Renton. The author used his experience of the Merchant Service to write sea stories for both children and adults, publishing his first novel in 1943. This title relates the story of the M.V. Kassala sailing from Hull through the North Sea and Dover Strait into the English Channel. With the artwork of Balint Stephen Biro (1921-2014), Hungarian born artist, illustrator and children's author.
